FAQ’s

Q: I’ve submitted a membership application. What happens next?

A: Once your membership application has been submitted, a member of our leadership team will contact you via your preferred method of communication (email, text, or phone) to schedule a video meeting.

To be considered for enrollment, applications should be submitted during our active enrollment periods, which typically take place in April–May for the upcoming school year and December for second-semester openings.

Applications received outside of an active enrollment period will be placed on our waiting list, and families will be contacted if and when openings become available.

Please note that response times may be longer during summer break, as many of our families and leadership team members are away on vacation

Q: Do I have to teach a class if we join the co-op?

A: Yes. Living Stones is a parent-led co-op, and all parents are expected to have a willingness to teach and share their gifts, talents, knowledge, and experiences with our students.

Many parents initially feel unqualified to teach, but some of our most loved classes have been led by parents who simply stepped out in faith and shared something they were passionate about. We believe every parent has something valuable to contribute.

Because our co-op relies on parent involvement, teaching is not optional but rather an important part of what makes our community successful. By sharing the responsibility, we create a richer educational experience for our students while preventing burnout among our families and volunteers.

Q: What do you look for when enrolling families?

A: We look for families who are ready to actively participate in the life of our co-op. Living Stones is not a drop-off program or a service that is provided to families—it is a parent-led community and ministry built by the families who are part of it.

The families who thrive here are those who are willing to serve, teach, help where needed, and take ownership of the community alongside other parents. Whether it’s leading a class, helping with an event, staying to clean up, or stepping in when a need arises, we value parents who come with a servant’s heart and a team mindset.

We believe co-op works best when every family contributes, and we strive to cultivate a culture where parents are invested not only in their own children, but in the success of the entire community.

Q: Can I enroll in Summer Session without joining the school-year co-op?

A: Summer Session is reserved exclusively for currently enrolled co-op families and is not open to the general public.

Q: Are you a drop off co-op?

A: No. We are a parent led homeschool cooperative. All enrolled students need to have a designated parent on site while attending co-op.

Q: Can we decide to only take certain classes or come half day?

A: Unfortunately, we do not currently offer half day attendance. When you sign up for our co-op, you are committing to the full day. This policy helps ensure that all families share equally in the responsibilities that make our co-op successful. Whether a parent is teaching, assisting, or serving in another role, having everyone present for the full day allows us to distribute responsibilities fairly and avoid placing an undue burden on other parents and volunteers.

Additionally, consistent attendance is an important part of the co-op experience. Our classes, relationships, and community are built throughout the day, and full participation helps provide the best experience for both students and families.

Q: Can we visit your co-op to see how it is, so we can see if it’s a good fit for us?

A: For the safety and privacy of our students, families, and host location, we do not share our meeting location or offer visits to individuals who are not currently enrolled.

We provide detailed information about our mission, policies, schedule, and expectations to help families determine whether Living Stones is the right fit before applying. We encourage families to prayerfully consider enrollment and reach out with any questions they may have.
